Stealing. It’s an easy enough concept to understand in Skyrim. Stand in the region of the room that no one can see you and grab everything in sight! But apparently this isn’t the most efficient way of doing it. Using a highly sophisticated tool you can steal goods from right under their noses! What is this uber sneaky stealy tool? An expensive spell? A highly trained monkey? NO! We call it… a bucket!
Well that’s it for me. My copy of has arrived. This means that I will no longer be posting on this blog, doing my school work, eating, or sleeping. What I will be doing is playing Skyrim – a lot.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed and of course everyone else who reads the blog. Everyone else can bite my freezing nordic arse. Enjoy Skyrim!
If you haven’t orderd your copy you can do so here.

In a previous post I stated what the requirements were predicted as, and the real requirements are pretty similar. The only real surprise was that it needs only 6Gb of hard drive space!
This is truly incredible considering that Battlefield 3, a FPS, Requires 15Gb! Why is this you ask? Well, you’re not the only ones:
“We’ve seen plenty of comments relating to the game only requiring six gigs of HDD space. Don’t worry… there’s still a ton of game in there. The total HDD space relates more to the compression optimizations we’re able to do with The Creation Engine. Not only are do we think you’ll be impressed with how the game looks, but also how much faster it runs..” – Bethblog
Sounds good!

Skyrim won the Golden Joystick Award: One to Watch. And so it should! But… why?
If you have seen any gameplay footage what so ever you will know that Skyrim is a beautiful game. It is also vast. This is not always a good thing, but in Skyrim is most definitely is. It is so packed with content that each disk is at risk of collapsing into a miniature black hole.
But this is not the reason I think Skyrim will be awesome. No. It will be awesome because… well the hint is in the title!
I have found some one who agrees with me. He also looks and sounds a bit like Mark Zuckerberg from the social network, which is cool:
That’s right! Skyrim is already winning awards – and it’s not even out yet!
The Golden Joystick awards are the biggest, most prestigious awards in gaming. This year over a million people (1,000,000) voted! That is a lot of nerds.
The big thing about the awards is that they are the oldest, the biggest and arguably the best. More import is the fact that it’s regular, normal* gamers who vote!
So what about Skyrim? How did it do? Well its worth mentioning that the awards are primarily for games that are actually out!
Despite this The Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim won the award “One to Watch“.
This doesn’t really sound that impressive. On the other hand: “You can always judge a man by the quality of his enemies”. The same is true of video games! So what was the competition? Battelfield 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Batman: Arkham City, Unchrted 3, Minecraft (Full Version), Saints Row: The Third, and Assassins Creed: Revelations. Skyrim beat every single one of them. Ha.
Why did Skyrim win? I’ll look at that in the next post!

Do you think that you’re fanatical about Skyrim? Think again. Try Force Productions recently produced this pretty cool fan movie!
For a budget film it’s not bad at all. Plenty of stabby swordy action and exceptional outfits! The only thing I will say is that there is a disappointing lack of dragons. But then again there is ALWAYS a lack of dragons!
Skyrim: Cosplay

Now I think this is what you call cosplay. I’ve never really been into it myself and consider people are to be slightly strange. Much better to sit in a darkened room hunched over a computer salivating over a Skyrim demo that you’ve already watched some 17 times!
If you are one of those people strange who want to dress up as a Skyrim badass but can’t afford the time or money to make a costume you could try being a Viking!

In a recent article on Skyrim in the Official Xbox Magazine more information has been divulged! Here’s what I’ve found out.
1) Unfortunately headless chickens haven’t been confirmed. What HAS been confirmed is that Necromancy will allow you to bring dead chickens (and presumable other farm animals) from the dead! Progressing with necromancy will allow you to revive fallen comrades to fight by your side. However,if I can’t decapitate a chicken and then bring him back to life as a mobile cup holder I will be very very disappointed.
Skyrim: Mobile Cup Holder
2) The AI has improved! This isn’t much of a surprise really; whenever a new game comes out, the AI is (supposedly) improved! However this improvement will be fun. In Skyrim, after you kill some of their friends, enemies will realise that attacking you will be bad for their health and scarper!
Enemies will also be able to spring traps al la Road Runner. For example: bandits roll a boulder at the player from an overhanging bridge.
Skyrim Trap: It's a Classic
3) Leveling up will be a lot more like Fallout 3. You will be given a number of points and then you can decide on what you want to spend them.
4) Horse AI has been improved in TES:V so that if you steal one, and then get off it, it will run away! I’m not sure if I like this… I hope they add a way to befriend them e.g. feeding sugarlumps!
Skyrim Horsie
5) Lockpicking is also much improved and has a more Fallout feel to it now that the minigame has been upgraded!

Bethesda Studioes obviously aren’t happy with the exposure that Skyrim has had so far. In-fact they’re SO un-happy they created (yes CREATED) an army to raise awareness of Skyrim throughout the worlds video game stores! Here is a little look at the marketing masterpieces:
That’s it! The Skyrim Competition is now over, and we have a winner! The winning entry was a Blue Dark Elf aka Lady Bananacake! I’ve included the screenshot below:
Lady Bananacake - by Emma Segal
Emma has won herself a glass dragon (pictured below), handmade in the hills of North Wales by an eccentric glass blower.
If you want to have a look at the other competition entries take a look at our faceboook page!

Thanks to everyone who entered, and everyone who voted too!

Wooohhoooo! Gamescom! Skyrim was at Gamescom (August 17 to 21, 2011) this year. I’ve found some pretty awesome videos that you’ll love! The first is an interview with Pete Hines (He answered some questions on twitter concerning TES:V). Pete talks about the quantity of content in Skyrim – even when you’re simply exploring!
What I’m really looking forward to is the dungeons! The one problem in Oblivions dungeons, for me, was that they were… well, too similar. There wasn’t much different between them. However, it doesn’t look as though this’ll be a problem for Skyrim!
The next video is by Simon and Lewis! They are the stars of the famous Yogscast! They were at Gamescom and saw the Skyrim demo for themselves. I thought their reaction was fun 🙂
These guys are great, and if you haven’t already, check out their channel. They do some really funny Minecraft videos!
Remember to check out the Skyrim Competition! There are only a few days left if you want to win the awesome glass dragon!
